A while back my mom found an article in some paper (idk, it might have been the local rag) about unsigned and indie bands in Minnesota. The article mainly focused on this band called Green Sweater Society who I guess used to play at a teen center called the Garage around where I live.

I was meaning to check them out for the longest time and never did...
While I was down in Florida I agreed to go see a friend of a friends band play at the Garage (they're called Among the Chaos, look them up too cuz...they kinda rock) the day after I got home.
My friend Sunny and I went and Green Sweater Society was playing when we got there.
They said "Buy our new EP at that table over there. It's only 5 bucks which is like getting it online, except you get to meet us!" so I got the album because Sunny and I agreed immediately that we liked them.
Basically, my mom was happy about that and I'm telling you to go listen to Green Sweater Society (and Among the Chaos) in short. But I didn't really want to update so you get this half-assed effort for one.

They Made Me Do It

For the life of me, I could not think of something from the time of May 17th until now to update this thing with.
Well...I could but didn't want to. Ha-ha.

If anybody knows by the title what I'm going to be ranting about now, congratulations. You don't win anything.

donnie darko

Okay, if you really want to...look this up on IMDB if you can't take my word for it that this movie is worth your time.

It's called Donnie Darko and it's the story of a teenage boy with "emotional problems" in October of '88.

He stops taking his medication and as a result, he sleepwalks. He has an argument with his family and is guilt-ed into taking his meds again. Despite this, on the night of October 2nd he sleepwalks and meets Frank.

Now, if Frank is not wearing the most disturbing bunny suit you have ever seen there is something terribly wrong with you. I'll put a better picture on the bottom of this post.

Frank begins convincing him to commit a series of crimes and that he can get away with anything, and on top of all this telling him that in "28 days, 6 hours, 42 minutes, and 12 seconds...that is when the world will come to an end".

The movie has a bizzare plot that is strangely addicting and the same goes for the characters.

It's one of those "all-in-one" movies I guess. I thought so at least. It's got a little comedy, a little (don't get pissed at me for saying this if you've already seen it) romance, I jumped a couple times watching it at 1 AM, and it seems to belong on the Sci-Fi channel.

Only...it's not bad and the graphics aren't agonizingly cheap!

I will however admit that it can get a little boring at times and it kind of goes into these strange side-stories that seem to have nothing to do with Donnie and the actual plot of the movie.

But the movie is worth it. Plus for the ladies out there like myself, Jake Gyllenhaal is a cutie so the boring parts aren't so boring...;]

The cast includes: Jake Gyllenhaal, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Drew Barrymore, Daveigh Chase, and Patrick Swayze. It was made in 2001.

So here's Frank.

A Little Late But Here We Go!!

Okay, I know it's a day late and all that jazz but I was kinda busy Friday night.
I was talking to my boyfriend when I should have been updating...

But I had auditions today so...yeah haha.
Anywho...

If You Haven't Heard It...

Deja Entendu

This is a must listen and I will say it a lot but this time I mean it.

DEJA ENTENDU
Brand New

It's pretty rad and obsession worthy. It's got a nice little indie sound I guess and some amazing lyrics.

The best songs include:
The Boy Who Blocked His Own Shot
I Will Play My Game Beneath the Spin Light
Okay I Believe You But My Tommy Gun Don't
Sic Transit Gloria...Glory Fades

But that's just mee. Soco Amaretto Lime by Brand New is also amazing. As is Jesus Christ.

If You Have Showtime...

Dexter

You should watch Dexter. I don't have Showtime, but I bought it on iTunes cheap. It's cool!
Don't watch it if you have a low maturity level, and you know if that means you. It's gory, it's violent, it's sexual. But it's GOOD.

It might give you nightmares but it's worth it. The first episode doesn't give it justice so...

Running out of time, londer update next with with one of my favorite little bands and a cool artist...

What to Expect.

Hey, there.

It's Ray.
So, there's this guy and his name is Jack. Him and I are like bffl s.

I mean like fore real.
And we think that people need to get over themselves.

We think that unsigned bands need som props. We think that indie movies need some talk.

And so an idea was born...
